  1. I just moved into a house and can finally setup my system the way I'd like it. My only problem is that I went to wall mount my sc.5 and found that there is no mounting hole in the back. On both my SS1 and SB1 there are mounting hole option, whether that be a single screw hole or a keyhole. However on th sc.5 there is NO option. I'm curious to see if there is a way around this wihout ruining the integrity of the speaker. My original thought was to take out one of the screws that attaches the speaker cable plugs and go to a hardware store to find a longer one and attach the longer one to the wall mount and also through the original hole of the speaker cable plug. However, as this is considered a "sealed" box, I don't want to ruin anything. Any thoughts ASAP would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  2. I have just started builing my HT and have to start somewhere. I just got married in December so $ is still in issue. I don't have a lot to spend, but like good quality for the $. I plan on upgrading in a few years, but have started out with the following: Fronts - Synergy SB1 Center - Synergy SC.5 Surrounds - Synergy SS1 I currently have a JVC 9010VBK A/V Receiver, but am looking at getting rid of it in order to get a Denon AVR-2802. Does anyone have any other suggestions, or should I just stay with the JVC? I'm looking to spend around $500 for an A/V Receiver. Suggestions welcome, remember I'm a newbie and would rather not have any critisicm. Thank you.
  3. This is kind of like the question posted a few down on RCA/Optical for CD, but I read it and didn't quite get the straight answer I wanted. The question I have is this: I have my DVD player hooked up to my receiver via optical digital. My CD player is hooked to my receiver via RCA. My question is, does it really matter, when just listening to CD's which component (DVD, or CD) I use? Won't it play in 2 Channel anyway? Thanks in advance
  4. I just purchased the items listed in my signature. I do not yet have any cables for them. My questions are these: 1. Klipsch recommends at least 18 gauge speaker wire. How is the gauge of the speaker wire done. Is 12 gauge bigger than 18, or does it just go by numbers? I have not found much 18 gauge, but have found a lot of 12. What are your thoughts? 2. What type of connection do I use from my speaker wire to my speakers? Is it a "bannana plug," or is it something else? 3. Is there really a big difference in the type of cables used? For instance, Monster vs. RCA brands, THX Certified vs. not, etc? Thank you in advance for the help.
