  1. I ordered my 20-39PC+ today and it'll be at my house by Thursday.... However, I won't be back from my dorm for another three horrible days filled with anticipation.
  2. Hey, I'm working on building planning my basement home theater and I need to decide on what rack(s) I need to buy so I can lay out the final dimensions. I have two questions for everyone. 1)Does anybody know of a good place/website to purchase in-wall audio racks for a home theater room? 2)Is there much of a difference between rack models/companies such as features I should look for (cooling etc)?
  3. Thanks everyone for the input. I think I'm going to hold off on the RSW for now because suddenly I'm attracted to the SVS 16-46 PC-Plus subwoofer. Does anyone own that model or any of them in the PC or CS Plus series? Thanks.
  4. I need to purchase a subwoofer for my system and I want a member of the RSW series. I'm running two cornwalls for mains, two heresys in parallel for center and rs-7's for surrounds. To begin with, would the RSW-12 be powerful enough for my system or should I save for RSW-15. Or if anyone can suggest better subs at a comperable price it would also be welcomed. Any input would be appreciated.
  5. I honestly wouldn't put them at the same location. Your ears would detect where the sound source was coming from and that would probably cause you to lose basically the true effect of the surround sound. Your only option in that configuration would be to possibly bounce the quintets off of the wall behind the listening area. However, this would cause a severe loss of energy in the sound wave and you probably wouldn't be able to pick it up all that well.
  6. Actually (and I probably should've clarified this) I switched the blown speaker to the working channel and I still got the shorting... Although I think I'm gathering that this was just one of those few Klipsch rejects, but luckily I still have my warranty to fall back on. Thanks again.
  7. I was putting the Beastie Boys Anthology through the system and all of a sudden the left surround speaker made a loud crack and the system shorted out for a split second. If you put signals through the line it will work fine at a very low power level (barely audible at about a yard). If the volume is moved higher, it will pop again and the system cuts out again. I am using a Carver Magnetic Field Power Amplifier (purchased in 1991) on those which has a power rating of 115 watts per channel (2) continuous. I am positive the amp didn't go into clipping, because it wasn't nearly up to that level (I use this same amp to drive my cornwall IIs for DJing and it can push out a lot more power very easily). I'm using my Pioneer VSX-D811S as a preamp for the rears plus power my center and fronts (I needed more power than the D811S could output so I had to split the work between two amps). Also I am positive that it wasn't a problem with the preamp because I did not hear any hard hits or distortion coming from the other surround. If you need anymore information from me just let me know.
  8. I own a pair of Klipsch RS-7's and I had the misfortune of blowing one of them today. What confuses me is the fact that my amp can do 115x2 watts and it was turned less than half of the way up. The specs declare that the speaker can handle 150 watts continuous before it blows. I want to know if this is my fault or is it a defective speaker. Am I missing a concept here or something? I would be incredibly grateful to anyone who could clear this up.
