  1. Took over 5 years of collection, finally completed my 9.2.4 Home Theatre with Klipsch speakers (minus the subs). : ) I had some RF62 and RC62s initially and @Youthman inspired me to do v2 w/ La Scala. I was fortunate to find a couple La Scala from an original owner to kick start it and rest fell in place after. I originally had Yamaha surrounds and ceilings and those were the last ones to be replaced. I thought ceiling won't matter much.. oh boy, was I wrong. Love those 8" pro-180 RPCs, appreciate the bass from those ATMOS heights for sure! Lastly, I think for my size of room where surrounds are relatively close to seating, the RP surrounds with the dispersion sounded better compared to my original in-walls. I may look to have a couple more acoustic panels to cut down reflections more in time. What's next? Gonna enjoy the newly released 25th anniversary Gladiator and Braveheart to test it out. : ) Receiver: Denon AVR-X8500H LCR: Klipsch La Scala w/ Crites CT120 and A/4500 crossover Front Wides: Klipsch RP-600m Surrounds (L, R, RL, RR): Klipsch RP-502s Top (FL, FR, RL, RR): Klipsch Pro-180 RPC Subwoofers: SVS PB-16 & PSA v1501df Projector: BenQ: HT3550 Screen: Elite 1080P3 120" 16:9 Cheers and hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying their HT!
  2. Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, but love all the shared info - I'm learning a TON! In the next couple of months I'm gonna get serious about a real HT setup and currently in the planning stages. I wanted to run my potential setup and speaker placement by this community and see if there is anything I'm missing to setup a Dolby Atmost 7.1.4 configuration. I've attached 2 drawings of my room layout to help visualize what I'm working with. Any and all feedback is welcome to help improve and optimize my setup. My grid was every two boxes equals 1 ft approx. Thank you! Front: RF-7 III Center: RC-64 III Rear: R-51-M Rear-Surr: RP-502S both Rear speakers and Rear surrounds mounted on 30 inch speaker stands. Atmos front mounted above front left and right speakers: RP-500SA Atmos mounted above the couch area 10ft off the ground. RP-500SA Sub: considering hiding it in the rear corner of the room instead of in the front: (the front speakers I've heard punches good bass + lack of space) SPL-120 AV: Denon AVR-X4400H or X4500 depending on whats cheapest and available. Paired with a XPA-3 Gen3 AMP or Outlaw 5000 powering the front stage. ( I must admit I'm not 100% clear on the difference between that emotive 3 channel vs. the outlaw besides the obvious fact that the outlaw has 2 additional channels. The Emotive seems like it has a lot of power for those 3 channels comparatively.) Thanks again for any advice, Spencer
  3. Hello, I've got a pair of RP-502S, each on a speaker stand. Now I'm thinking of screwing them to the stand for that extra secure feeling that they won't tip off. The stands have holes in the top-plate so it's possible to insert 2 screws from below. But, is that considered good practice ? If so, until how many millimeters is it save to drill a hole for the screw ? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
