  1. I have a number of Klipsch plate amps I've used parts to make others good, and I'm wanting to know what the output is of the pre-amp board, tone control, whatever the control board is called. What I'm hoping to do is measure the output of these boards to see if they can be used with these 1000 watt amps I picked up for $40 each. (specs and pics attached) It shows they need a 15+/- pre-amp board to control it. It's a great amp because I can use it as a dual or mono. I want to see if I can use them for another plate amp setup, but I realize there might be other things to contend with. What I can't figure out is how I measure the output power or specifications of these subwoofer control boards. Can anyone help? I'll list the ones I have: RW-8, RW-10, RW-12, R-12sw, R-112sw, Synergy Sub 10 & 12. Those are just the Klipsch ones. I am a novice, so please explain things as if you're teaching a high school student who's 48....🤔 First pics are of the 1000 watt amps w/specs, and the others are control boards and possible plates I can use with them.
  2. I have done a search and am not finding much for results, but my RW-10d died the other day. I turned it on, it made a crackle and died. The fuse is blown, but the board looks fine, no blown or melted resistors. I found one post where the users had replaced the MOSFETs and stated theirs were working again, but that was almost 6 years ago and I was wondering if it was still working, or did it at least last a year or two? I know most people replace the plate amp, but that's almost half the price of a new sub and I would prefer to not do that. If it comes to that then I will just upgrade to a new one, as long as they're not having the same problems as I see many have. I contacted klipsch for advice and have yet to hear anything back from them also. And, if I can't fix it, what is comparable as a replacement?
  3. What a deal this could be! It has a nice cabinet and a perfect speaker. The plate amplifier is probably dead but does that really matter? It shouldn't be a problem for someone who knows what they are doing and could revive it. I offer it for someone in the Atlanta area as a project for only $34.78. Otherwise it's heading for the recyclers. /Steve
  4. Hello, I am new to the forum. I am moderately skilled at repair and was wondering if anyone can send me a schematic and/or a service manual for RW-10 sub-woofer. The reported symptom is fuse immediately blows. I have inspected the circuit boards and nothing is visibly crispy. Thank you in advance.
