rune
I have a pair of year 2000 Khorns with the AK-3 x-over. My question is:can I put in a Type A network without any further "rebuilding"? Do the Type A have the same crossover freq. as the AK-3? Rune
soundog
Do you mean old AA crossovers? Why would you want to? The AAs are all one unit, don't the newer Klipschorns use a split crossover with some of the components in the bass bin so they can be bi-wired? I coul see replacing them with Al's ALK crossovers which offer some adjustment options and top quality parts but think the older crossovers may be risky due to their age. ------------------ Soundog's HT Systems
Q-Man
Don't do it. The AK-3 is a good network. Q. ------------------ Q-Man
rune
My idea is to build a copy of the A or the AA type, with good component quality....."Less is more" Is it risky to try this?I don't think I can blow anything with my 18w tube amp.....,or? soundog
No I doubt you'll blow anything - try it what the heck -be sure to let us know the results. Plans for the ALK are on Al's site - might be worth a look: http://www.alkeng.com/klipsch.html ------------------ Soundog's HT Systems This message has been edited by soundog on 02-17-2002 at 07:03 PM
