Promedia 2.1 subwoofer not working

I've had these speakers for a long time and they sounded great until the subwoofer stopped working. I still get sound from the two small speakers though. Sometimes I can get the sub to work again by turning the volume up really high but most of the time this trick doesn't work. Once it does work it will keep working until I turn it off for a while. It seems to still work if I just turn it off and turn it on again right away. I thought I had a broken DIN connector so I bought a replacement and soldered it on but I'm still getting the same problem. I would really like to get these speakers fixed if I can so does anyone know what might be the problem?

Wow its been about 3 weeks and nobody has replied. Well it doesn't matter anyways since I used my troubleshooting skills to figure out the problem. The problem was with the DIN connector on the subwoofer. So I removed the old on and ordered a replacement from Digi-Key. The digi-key part number is CP-2260-ND and here's the link to the one I ordered:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?WT.z_header=search_go〈=en&site=us&keywords=CP-2260-ND+&x=5&y=15

After soldering the new connector on the sub was working again. I just thought I should share how I was able to fix mine in case someone else had the same problem as me.

I know I have a bad din on the subwoofer too. I was gonna try to repair mine too. Glad I saw your post. How did you get it off. i noticed theres that brown stuff all around it. Do you just scrape that off? Anyway i got 3 bad subwoofers that I could use for parts. Maybe I can use one of those dins?

That stuff looks hard to get off at first but all I did was use a knife and scrape it off. If you're sure its the din connector on the subwoofer then yes all you have to do is order the same din connector in the digi key link I provided in my previous post and it should work.
