josephpeay Posted August 31, 2011 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Pun intended - turning the S4's upside down DOES give you 180 degrees of difference in terms of bass response (MUCH improved). This is a bummer for me though, since one of my key purposes is using them on my motorcycle and thus the cord will now be touching ear cartilage (becomes quite painful pressed up against your outer ear). The inner-ear comfort is so-so, definitely still blown away by Sennheiser. Ordered some Comply Foam for the S4's so maybe overall comfort will improve. Since I do own cx500's by Sennheiser and now a pair of S4's I'll let the thread know what wins the sound + comfort battle once my foams arrive. So far, Sennheiser is slightly ahead, though S4 clarity is pretty impressive. *I've also owned the cx500's for a year now, so I am slightly biased - I'll do my best.
