I think I may have tightened the brackets to hard, thus twisting and/or compressing the frames a bit.

#1 I tried to remove the speakers from the wall, and after unscrewing the screws, the speaker and bracket did not loosen. NMOT HAPPY!

#2 I finally got the speakers out of the wall, but because I could not seperate the brackets after removing the screws, I now have ripped apart sheetrock from the the little brackets. Even after they were removed from the wall, the brackets were still very snug in the "caves", or sleeves that they are suppose to slide in and out of. WOW!

#3 I REALLY wish I had just left he speakers installed in the wall, even though they were pained, and just painted over them. This should have been an easy "remove, paint, reinstall" project, but it was far from it!

#4 I just installed a set of CDT-5800 C speakers and they were a breeze to install. The little clips meant to hold it in place are a much better design than the IW series.

Maybe I am using the wrong screws to install into the wall. I am using regular sheetrock screws (coarse thread).
