If I was going for surrounds, I'd opt for the 1.1's over the Quintets -- they're just better speakers. I don't know what the efficiency of your Paradigms are, but I would guess you could ramp the rear channels down enough in your receiver that you could match your front volume levels. They will likely have a different sound to them than the Paradigms, but for rear effects it won't be critical in your setting, IMO.
