Appropriate discount for a damaged RF-63

Help! I just purchased and received a new pair of cherry RF-63s (man, their big!). One has damage to the front edge of the veneer even though the box was fine. It's a split and bulge about 4 inched long in the seam at the front right edge. Not too noticeable with the grill on. The dealer has no more in stock and has asked if I'd prefer a discount on it or return both. I have no idea what to ask for a discount other than "free".

Any ideas for an appropriate discount would be appreciated, especially considering how this would affect future resale if I ever did that.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Seattleguy,

I would send them back unless you:

A. Can live with the defect

B. Plan on keeping them for life. (Imagine 20 years from now!)

I am not sure what discount you received; etc; but new should= mint.

To refinish that speaker (probably both; so they match) would be costly; unless you can do it yourself......

Not what you signed up for when you bought them......

(If they will refund you 50%; that is a different scenario).

My .02

Good luck.
