Osiris_1980 Posted March 26, 2011 Share Posted March 26, 2011 Hi! I am planning to consolidate my cd collection into apple lossless files and keep them in an external drive (files are massive). I am currently using a Marantz SR7005 avr with Klipsch RF-82s. Is buying a multimedia drive a good solution? And will I be able to connect it with my avr through hdmi? Also, what is the difference between a media box and a multimedia drive? Sorry, don't know too much about this stuff. Lastly any suggestions for any particular brands/types of these drives. Guest davidness Posted March 26, 2011 Share Posted March 26, 2011 I have all my media stored on a QNAP raid drive. Google QNAP. Available in lot of sizes. It connects to my home network via gigabit ethernet, all my devices can access it. Can act as an iTunes media server. Also supports DNLA.
