RF-62 II / Yamaha RX-A3000 speaker settings

Hi new here so here's my first post.

Purchased the RF-62 II, should be here today, and will be connected to the Yamaha, what I wanted to know was in the speaker setup should the fronts be set to LARGE or SMALL?

My current setup is Polk Audio Floor standing, and when I set them to LARGE and play music videos or mp3s I get no subwoofer, but when I change the fronts to SMALL the sub starts working.

Is this the case for all speakers or does it have to do with the receiver? Does having the floor standing fronts set to small effect the quality of the audio when watching either DTS/Dolby video or Blu-ray movies.

Very new and uninformed when it come to all the different audio/speaker settings and looking for some help.

Thanks for any response.
