Currently I have 2 quintets and a quintet center with crappy Technics surround speakers and a JBL 10in sub running off an Onkyo 595. On ebay I see tons of KSB 1.1 selling for close to nothing. Are the KSB 1.1 better than the Quintets? If I used the 1.1 as mains, would they match up with the quintet center channel? I am only thinking about it because they have a large enough driver to actually play mid bass. Right now the JBL sub is playing everything up to 100hz. I have very limited funds and floor space so bigger speakers are out of the question. Any comments are appreciated. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dougdrake Posted May 29, 2002 Share Posted May 29, 2002 I believe you would find the 1.1's to sound better than the Quintets, especially if you put some music through them, as you point out. As far as a center goes, would a 1.1 fit in your setup as a center? Buy 3 pairs, and you'd have an identically matched setup for 5.1/6.1.
