tcogan Posted July 17, 2014 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Having issues with my Marantz PM6004 integrated amp placing itself in mute (protection mode) when achieving 50% volume. After talking with Crutchfield where I bought the amp, they said that there could be a possible short in one or both of my CF-3s. Also, after researching a little on the web, this seems to be a problem with this amp. Does anyone know how to test my speakers to see if there is a possible short/problem or does anyone have any info that might be helpful? I'm no way an expert when it comes to these things so please exuse my ignorance. I have noticed that I get a hum and uncharacteristic woofer vibration on certain recordings when the bass is turned up too much. This usually dissapates once the bass is turned down.
