973kgt
Hello. I have two complete working sets of the Promedia 5.1 ultra in immaculate shape and I was wondering how to link the two subs together since I cant find an SWS addon woofer and I assume the other 5.1 ultra sub would be more powerful than the SWS addon anyhow. Just to clarify I dont want to use all 10 speakers just the normal 5 and only link the extra sub to my setup. Thanks, Damon Im guessing I would have to have a splitter plugged into the center/sub port on the sound card and have another cable run to the extra sub, plugged into the center/sub port and use the control pod to turn it on and adjust the bass settings with that controller. If there is another cleaner way please let me know.
Andy W
The Ultra sub has the SWS link. You can use that. The best thing would be to make custom a RCA mono to stereo mini (3.5mm) adapter and tie the two signal wires together. You can buy a standard stereo RCA to 3.5mm cable, cut the cable somewhere in the middle, strip off the red RCA - you don't need it, then splice the wires back together, use heat shrink or electrical tape to insulate, and it's a good idea to wrap some aluminum foil around the outside to contact the signal ground and replace the shield, then heat shrink or electrical tape over that. Or use a mono RCA cable and buy a 3.5mm stereo plug at Radio Shack and tie the signal to both signal teminals on the 3.5mm plug. Then plug the RCA into the SWS link and the 3.5 into the FRONT input jack on the extra sub.

Also I assume I will have to control the extra 5.1 sub with its own volume control pod to turn it on/off etc..
