Hello everyone. I am a newbie in the Klipsch family. Recently moved from Polk Rti12 & Rti6 to Klipsch RP.

FRONTS- RP-280F

CENTER - RP-450C

SURROUND - RP-160M

SVS ULTRA 13 PORTED

bought them from my company with great discount. I recently read a thread about the RP-260 & the 280's and lots of votes went for the 260's. Is there anything wrong with the 280's? My living room size 12 X 16 feet.

There's nothing wrong at all with the 280s.  The only real issue comes down to what someone wants, and then whether or not a set of fronts can play up to the volume someone desires.

In that size room, with any AVR, you can play to reference with the 280s, 260s or the 250s.  Same for the center and the surrounds...and the sub.  They are all more than necessary for the room.  There is no downside to having more than is needed.  It provides headroom which lowers distortion across all of them.

So the lesson I have learned myself is that bigger, while often "better", is frequently not necessary. I had RF52s in one theater, along with RC52 and RS52s, RB51s, and they were all capable of destroying anybody's hearing in a room at least 2x your room's size.

So you did nothing wrong :)  You can keep those great speakers and should the day come that you put them in a larger room, they will have enough capability to keep up even in that larger room.  Many people have issues with speaker size, often spouses.   So smaller is sometimes preferred.

One small example, in my upstairs theater I had the R28Fs, which were simliar to the 280s (lesser, but same basic design).  Those are big speakers as you know.  My wife questioned it after a while, and I gladly switched them over to R160Ms, and, with capable subs, I feel there has been no loss at all in sound quality.

Especially for us dudes the natural desire is get the biggest/best/coolest.  After doing that I realize that has advantages and disadvantages, like many things.  But having the bigger ones will never leave you wondering "what if", which by itself is a big value :)
