kenratboy
First, I was NOT going to spend $2,000. This is replacing a decade-old 27" Toshiba that will be retired to a bedroom. The new TV is arriving on the 28th. It is this: http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=11100639&m=1&cat=24&scat=26 I mean, at least we are getting a bigger picture. The TV looked nice, and it fit in the AV unit. So, that is what is happening with my video experience. ALSO: I am posting a cable question, so answer that if you have a witty answer! ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. skonopa
I have a Sharp 32 inch TV myself, although not the newer model such as that your are getting. I have been real happy with it. It has a really nice picture and all the inputs that I needed (at the time I bought it). Since mine is an older TV (I had it for about 3 years now), it does not have the compnent inputs, but it does have S-video. Mine also has Picture-in-picture capability, which can be handy at times as well as an extra set of inputs right on the front (where I have my playstation hooked up). I also see the remote for your new set is pretty much identical to mine, except the button colors are different. It looks like the newer one has glow-in-the-dark buttons for the volume and channel up/down controls. I plan on sticking with this TV for a few more years then get a 55 inch plus big screen TV. Just what type, I don't know yet. The local Tweeter has one of those new DLP based ones and that thing looked sweet! Since it'll be at least 5 years before I get another TV, I got plenty of time to decide and see where the technology goes. Over all, looks like you got yourself a good set for the price. Granted, it may not be as nice as a 60 inch Mitsu, but hey, what can you do? Like you said, "No way was I going to spend $2000!" ------------------ Steven Konopa Fredericksburg, VA Denon AVR3802 (Receiver) RF-7 (Fronts) RC-7 (Center) RC-7 (Rear) RS-7 (A Surrounds) Infinity RS2000.5 (B Surrounds - recycled) REL Storm III (Subwoofer 1) Yamaha YST-SW40 (Subwoofer 2 - Recycled) JVC XV-S65GD (DVD) Sharp DX-200 (CD - ancient) RCA DWD490RE (DirecTV/Ultimate TV receiver) Sharp 32 inch (TV) This message has been edited by skonopa on 09-24-2002 at 10:57 AM
