Femtochemistry
Hi, I am new to this HT stuff. I can't get my 3802 to work on DTS; once i press the DTS button on the denon i get no sound. Do i have to have 6.1 to work? I only have 5.1. Furthermore, the speakers in the back (RB5) are not very loud. I tried increasing the db on them upto +12 and still not very strong, even with the front and center down to +2. Can someone please help me? thanks! Steve Phillips
It may be in the set up of your DVD player. Check there to see if you have dts activated. I have my 3801 set to -7 on my mains because they over power my surrounds.

dougdrake
Sorry if this is stating the obvious, but... You have to select the DTS sound track (usually) on the DVD when you play it. Go into Languages or Setup on the DVD main menu, and pick DTS. If you've done that already, then be sure you have a digital connection from the DVD to the Denon, and put the Denon in Auto mode -- it will select DTS automatically if that is the format it is seeing come across the digital link. edwardre
Fem.... Using the digital out of the DVD player, I set my 3802 to "auto" rather than DTS or Dolby D or PCMII. Then, upon selecting DTS on the disk-to-watch, the 3802 auto-detects DTS mode and you should see "DTS" on the front panel display of your 3802, and the corresponding LED lit. cluless
doug - I think that you may have hit upon it without telling Fem directly...Fem Do you have a digital connection between your dvd and your denon? Optical/Coax?
