mmiles
want to move system. currently all equip is in a logan rack about 2' from the tv. i want to put receiver in a built in book case about 14" from the tv (once the cable run is done routed under the floor and into the new location estimate lenght is 20' from tv. present dvd is connected directly to tv component video in with high end monster cable (about 9') and audio is connect via high end monster cable fiber digital audio (3'). digital cable box is connected to tv with standard rg59 coax and to receiver with monster cable gold end rca jacks (3') for audio. well after boring you folk i see my options as endless therefore i am very confused on what to do so not to sacrifice audio or video quality. the store told me to ALWAYS connect dvd directly to tv and not to receiver. so i think the best way is to place dvd on top of tv (very light) and look for a high quality L O N G audio cable. will tv feedback into dvd player? it has not affected the center channel to date the rest front and center of tv. digital cable box can go next to receiver and i could run the low loss rg59 to and from tv (about 20' as mentioned) with no problem, the cable left me tons of cable! well how about everyone what should i do? j-malotky
Mike Welcome to the Klipsch BBS. Generally I try to keep the audio interconnects to a 2 meter (6 foot) minimum. Both Component and SVID cables are more forgiving in longer lengths. IMHO - I would put the DVD by your audio and run a longer Vid cable to the TV.
