bucking magnets

looks like i'll have to be going this route w/ these klf-30 so close to the sony. color's ok, but horizontal lines are skewing toward the upper right of screen - pretty much right toward the mid horn of the right klf.

before i do it, wondered if i can just take out each driver seperately(phillips screws) or should I, along w/ the epoxy, buy that star torque wrench & drop out the whole front panel (i ordered only the tweet & mid magnets for now)? any other helpful tips? thanks.

I am not understanding the question. The front panel is not held in place by torx screws. In fact, in the case of your pair, I guess the front panel is not held in by much at all.

I think you understand what it takes to fix the panel problem, but how does the torx driver enter into this?

bob, my stupid. i talked to trey & he mentioned something about torque screws (maybe inside when i take the horn/drivers out?). anyway i took the grilles off & glanced at the panel & saw these holes - well

they're the holes for the grille to go into redface.gif

so i should be ok when the bucks arrive. bet after i put those on i'll find it's the woofers.

this must be the biggest service problem for you w/ the klf. wish they were shielded already, but this aint no perfect world. biggrin.gif
