my sound card

uhui, just about every sndcard on the market is 16 bit, including the AE, the live's, the Turtle Beach, almost all of them. Practically the only ones that aren't are based on the audiophile 2496 chip's, being 24 bit, 96 hz. True, you should get a new sndcard, cause onboard audio usually sucks, but there's no need to get a 2496, which generally has more compatibility problems than more plentiful brands. Go with an AE, i like mine alot, and i hear the game theater XP is pretty good too.

hope this helps,

J
