gsoneill@citlink.net
Howdy all. I am looking at some Klipsch speakers (I believe they are La Scalas but I haven't actually seen them yet) that have consecutive serial numbers: 12R676 and 12R677--type LS/BR. Can anyone help me identify these speakers based on this information? Thanks in advance.
edster00
gsoneill, Those would be LaScala's in Raw Birch (BR) and the R denotes 1977. Keep us posted on your acquisition of those babys!
gsoneill@citlink.net
That is what I was hoping. The thing that was throwing me off was that this guy said they were walnut but then he has since clarified informing me that he purchased them new unfinished (i suspect, after your help, they were raw birch) and that he had a "professional wood worker" stain them cherry walnut in color. He just sent me a picture...they are indeed La Scalas and they actually look pretty cool with the stain. He claims they are unmodified and sound excellent--as good as they did when he purcased them in 1977! They should go well with my 1977 Cornwalls (oiled walnut) and my 1977 Heresys (oiled walnut). I'll let you know how they sound when i pick them up. Thanks again!
