leok Posted May 14, 2003 Share Posted May 14, 2003 I'm using the Philips DVD963 for stereo. For CDs it's better than my old Sonic Frontiers "TransDac." In this case the 24 bit 192KHz upsampling really does work. And the SACD "sounds" like there's no media there at all. For $1000 you can buy a very good Receiver that will decode regular CD nicely. Used even lower or else buy a Rega. I took the aforementioned Toshiba back the next day.
