Questions on the Cary SLP-70

Yes I'm interested in the Cary SLP-70 because of all the positive comments from Mobile Homeless (Kelly). Here are my questions:

1. Can I upgrade the model w/o phono and Cathode follower to phono? Or do I buy an external phono stage like w/other line stages?

2. This pre-amp is not necessarily a way to "sweeten or warm" the sound. I would have thought that would be a good thing with Klipsch. Any comments on the SLP-70 w/Klipsch?

3. I've been getting great feedback from my local Cary dealer on the Cinema 7 for two-channel...better than Halo. Anyone heard the new Cary products? They seem to have 2-channel bypass and the ability to play well with HiRez, 2-channel and HT. I haven't looked at the price...maybe that's the catch.

4. What do you think the SLP-70 would be worth mint w/o phono? $500?

$700 seemed ok w/phono.

I kept reading about patience on this forum...I guess that's why I haven't pulled too many triggers yet and keep asking questions. I've been listening to PAS3 & ST-70...sometimes Outlaw and ST-70....once Carver Sonic HOlography and ST-70...weird match. Maybe I should try the C500 and Sonic Holography the way I did in the 80's! I know many cringe at that comment...it was just a joke.
