bnewt
according to reviews & testimonies, svs is a very good sub. However, I prefer a box type sub & the smallest svs is too large for my room. How do the Klipsch rsw 10 & 12 compare to svs for music & mostly movies?
TheEAR
The SVS VS Klipsch (again!) SVS is quite linear down to 16Hz and the Klipsch RSW subs start to fall sharply at 30Hz. For rock and music where drums play a major role the RSW shines, for deep bass and over the top deep fake bass in movies SVS rules supreme. Both are well built, both use quality parts.Question of preference here By definition the SVS is a superior subwoofer since a true subwoofer should be capable of sub bas soutput with solid SPL even below 20Hz.This is where SVS shows its potential. I have two Klipsch RSW subs(10 and 15)and like the "musical" aspect, they have slam galore.Tried dual SVS Ultra. The Ultras wake up the foundations of the house, true 16Hz capability with good output. I can say if you like true subsonic bass you will like SVS,Klipsch would do but below 25Hz its worthless so keep this in mind.
