Hi, I'm trying to fill out my HT setup and have yet to purchase the surrounds.I have SF-2's in the front and SC-1 center with a KSW-12 sub.Do I absolutely need the SS-1's in the rear or can I use KSF-S5's. Are these tripolar? The receiver will be a Denon 3802 or 2803.Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated...Sid

Go to the Klipsch home page. On the left hand side (under the Klipsch logo) go to Classic Product then select Synergy. You'll be able to get the KSF-S5 specs there.

I've got a set of S5's. They're the standard Klipsch WDST surround design (woofer in the center, with a horn on each angled side), which I assume is what you mean by "tripolar". They have 180 degree coverage horizontally, and seem to do a great job in my setup (with KSB-3.1 mains and KSC-C1 center). I can't answer how well they'll match your SF-2's, since I haven't heard that combo. They have been discontinued for about 3 years, so may be harder to find than the newer SS-1 surrounds.

Good luck!

Steve
