damonrpayne
My new RF-5s have a slight amount of noise which is really only audible very close to them. All the noise comes from the horns, none from any of the other speaker parts. What are possible causes of noise in speakers? I'm thinking: -Signal/Noise output ratio of my current receiver? Shipping was delayed for my HK -Speaker/Receiver connection? -Speakers are underpowered? -Not broken in yet? -Dirty power? -EMF? Or, a small amount of noise is unavoidable? I've never owned speakers this nice before so I don't know what to expect.
easylistener
You will always get a little hissing with good horns. How loud is it? Can you hear it with music playing? You normaly can get some of it to disapear with better equiment, but not all. Welcome to some nice speaker.

Welcome to some nice speaker. ---------------- It is just a little hissing, I certainly can't hear it with music or a movie going, even using the crappy 9 year old Sony receiver. I have to be about a foot away from the speakers with volume fairly low to hear it Seems as though all is well then, thanks.
