jdm56
Dontcha miss having at least a little ambience enhancement from the rear, when switching from multi-channel back to CD?
soundog
Depends on the recording - live concerts I love in multi-channel surround - some processed CDs sound great in multi-channel; some sound worse.
avman
my first experience w/5 ch.stereo was with an adcom preamp about 9 yrs.ago.i thought it sounded nice, a kinda 'for fun' thing. i have been a 'music in 2-ch.is best'(WITH my sub,now that i have a GOOD one)guy for a while. most (98%)of my redbook cd's i still listen to this way,HOWEVER dvd concerts in surround and multi-channel sacd's have 'softened' my stand on this. still, i listen to 2-ch.regular cd's thru my klf-30's AND rsw-15, and 2-ch.sacd thru my klf-30's exclusively. avman. garymd
I prefer a good 2-channel system that provides good imaging/soundstaging. Sometimes hearing the crowd behind me when listening to a live DVD is pretty cool but otherwise I prefer 2-channel 99.9% of the time. I don't, however prefer the 2-channel my HT receiver provides. It just plain SUCKS!
