Jer Stryker
I sent the following email to the Klipsch Promedia tech support email address. Thought I'd post it here so see if anyone has any ideas. I have a Promedia v.2-400 set that I have upgraded to a 4.1 with the newer control pod. I purchased the speakers new in December of 2000. Recently I noticed a rattle coming from the subwoofer. The rattle only occurs at a certain pitch range, not above or below it. It does not take a very high volume level to produce the rattle. If I turn the subwoofer upside down, the rattle goes away. Nothing is loose externally that I can find. It's hard to tell, but it sounds like the rattle comes from the rear area of the subwoofer. There are screws on the back -- can I possibly do anything to remedy this on my own? Or is there any problem if I just decide to use the subwoofer upside down all the time? If not, and in any case, please let me know if I can send the unit in for a repair or replacement, and provide cost estimates. I cannot find a serial number on the unit, but the sticker on the back says Klipsch P/N 09050281210 Spares P/N 143914-001 Also I have attached a wave file of a note in the range that causes the rattle, extracted from a THX sound check mp3 file. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. rattle note.zip
