belial Posted June 5, 2001 Share Posted June 5, 2001 I want to build speaker stands for the RB-5 bookshelfs, which I plan on purchasing. I guess my question is, how hard would this be? I know how to work with wood, which is what I plan to build them out of, staining them to match my TV cabinent which I built also. But, I'm concerned about vibrations. A lot of speaker stands seem to be made out of metal, and I know some people simply use cinder blocks, to dampen any vibrations that may result ... Will wood work? Or is it not heavy enough?
