I'm thinking about getting one to improve my signal. It must be bi-directional for cable modem and digital boxes. Thank you for any input. I complained to mine about my picture when I got my Toshiba so they came out and replaced all of the cable (it had been installed 16 years before) and replaced the cable boxes. They told me if I wasn't happy with that they would put an amplifier on the house. I think they refered to it as a booster. Turns out replacing the cable and boxes did the trick.
