Do a search for information on turntables. There's quite a bit here. Your budget and ability to work with used products are big factors. I was apprehensive about dealing with a used table. Lots to go wrong and not much experience on my end. I decided on new. There are several entry level tables out there that are quite good.

$275 to $750 range.

Just remembered that my wife's cousin has a Benjamin Miracord 770H and it's an excellent table. Just be cautious about the description being accurate.
