bonedoc
Does anyone know if Klipsch is about to release a RF-75 or something like it. It seems they are tweeking all their speakers and moving to a new designation. You know RF-3 to RF-35, RB-3 to RB-35 ect. Would want to wait on RF-7's then. MrMcGoo
Klipsch has publically stated that at present the RF-7 will remain the top of the Reference line. At a recent trade show(CES), Klipsch just happened to show a stunning "Premier Reference" speaker. This would be an entire new line above Reference. No decision has been made to manufacture that has been made public, so do not count on these ever being made. About a year ago, Klipsch showed a THX Ultra2 speaker package. They showed it again at CES, but there is still no release date and it may never be manufactured. The bottom line is that for awhile, the RF-7 will be the top banana. As always, change is inevitable. It is like any electronic product, there will be change. If you want to be immunized from change, look at the Heritage line. The Klipschorn has been in continuous production since 1946 for a VERY good reason; the K-horn is among the best speakers ever made. They may not have as much snob appeal as Wilson or B&W Nautilus speakers, but they are a better value and a tried and true sound. An all Heritage theater would be excellent. Either La Scallas or Belles can be used for non-corner placement. Klipsch has a huge share of the speaker market for commercial theaters. A Heritage theater could easily keep up with the very best. Personally, I went with RF-7s and never looked back. They may be around for ten or twenty years. Bill
