evilfrito
Hello, I got an old pair of heresy's, i think from around '75 or '76, and the dust cap that is in the center of the woofer seems to be sort of 'peeling off' from the center of the speaker. It has been really gradual, but does seem to be loosening up around the circumference and sticks out a little bit at certain areas at the top. Will this affect the sound of the speaker, or more importantly, is this attached to any wires that could possibly also loosen and become damaged over time? It seems to sound the same as the other speaker with no visual problems, but I want to be careful, these are nice sounding speakers! Any preventive measures or repairing techniques that I should perform, or is this not really a big deal?? Thanks-
D-MAN
The dust cap can be re-glued. Parts-Express sells the glue 5.95 per 1 oz. bottle. part# 340-076. Good luck
whadyasay
A thinly-applied amount of super-glue or elmers would work fine, but you should be really careful. If the separation becomes moreso, you'll eventully hear a grating distortion from the cone.
