jabaker
My Onkyo 701 has the calibration at reference level 82db.The onkyo manual says to use a SPL meter(I bought 1 from Radioshack) to set all speakers to 75db.Can all speakers be safely set to higher levels such as 85db and up.Will this be alright for the speakers and the reciever. Thanks for any feedback! whadyasay
My Denon plays the reference pink noise at around 80dB with the volume reading 00. I think you are supposed to let the reference noise play and adjust the volume until you get 75dB on your meter, then continue letting it play through all the speakers and set your levels so that they all reach 75. That's what I do.
