evilfrito
I'm currently using an old pair of nicely shielded rca monster cables to go from my dvd line out to my rsw-12. Would buying a new pair of thx monster cables improve things much? That stuff is pretty spendy, especially if I buy one of them for both channels. I have found line out (2ch) to sound a little more powerful than using my dvd player's LFE output..
michael hurd
Buying new cables aren't going to change squat if the old ones are in good shape. Just curious, what dvd player has an LFE out? To explain the difference, inside the subwoofer, the LFE jack bypasses the crossover. You would therefore use the crossover in the receiver. evilfrito
I have a sony sacd/dvd player with 5.1 analog outputs on it.. and this has it's own LFE out on it. My amp doesnt even have a LFE out because it is just a plain stereo amp. However, I find using a line out from my dvd player to my sub (amp is not in the path whatsoever) vs. using the lfe out sounds a little more powerful on the low end for some reason.. Anyways, thanks for the advice, I wouldnt want to go spending over 100 bucks on cables, especially if there isn't any real difference between a nicely shielded rca cable and a 'subwoofer cable' that is more expensive!
