doctorcilantro
Hi folks, Bit of an odd thing here since I am new to digital. I have a Denon CDRW1500 dual cd player/recorder and it is hooked up via digital outs to the digital inputs on a NUMARK PPD-9000 digital mixer. I can hear all the sounds like skipping tracks, pause is a loud clicking, etc. I don't remember any of this from analog. I like to make mixes a lot and this could pose a minor problem. I can use the cross fader but sometimes it's nice to have a channel fader raised and ready to "drop" into the outro of another song. note: I can hear thesed artifacts with the volume turned up to a medium level and so on...kind of sucks if you have the music cranked and want to hit pause or skip tracks etc.... Should I get a cleaning kit or something? any takers? thanks DC
michael hurd
I think that what you are experiencing is the dac's in the digital mixer, when there is no signal. They are receiving no signal. My marantz receiver will make some noises, when the volume is turned up, if the source ( cd ) has little information, like a test tone. It is not noticable in normal operation.
