sleazyFocker
Is there anyway I can hook up my pro media 4.1's to my tv?
Juba310
Your tv would need to have RCA outs, and you'd need a Y-cable that goes two RCA males to one stereo male. Then just plug this into the Line in spot in your 4.1 preamp. That SHOULD work. You could get a cable like that from radio shack.
Jay481985
or get a digital decoder like the one creative sells
Juba310
those are pretty expensive though, and a lot of older tv's dont have digital out.
Jay481985
the digital decoders have rca inputs as well
Jay481985
also the digital decoder has false surround sound not stereo if you do it the rca way. and the digital decoder from creative about 100 online
Juba310
oh yeah i forgot about the RCA inputs. but still 100 bucks is kinda pricey to put down for something you could accomplish with a 4 dollar cable.

Juba310
Most TV is in stereo, with the odd exception of those few broadcasts in 5.1 sound, but even so, since he has 4.1s it wouldnt really matterr.

InnovaZero
What I did with my TV in my room was, hook the preamp to the headphone unit, and then hooked up the surround back into the AUX part of the preamp. Giving me a 2x Stereo effect. It sounded a lot more natural then on my computer because it didn't get any sort of interference or EQ from the computer or the soundcard. Yeah, I've been busy as hell he last few months. But that hasn't kept me from my audio loving hobbies. Glad to see many still around. Man Return of The King is such a wicked movie. Def. a movie to test any HT system to its full extent, besides being a great movie in general.
