bcmiller
Hi, Can you place the RW12 on it's side or can you take the feet off the bottom and have it set directly in the cabinet? Thanks, Billy
IndyKlipschFan
Not on the side. I would assume you want the port to use the floor to help. As far as the feet, as long as maybe some sort of cloth/ rubber was underneath it to keep it from rattleing it should be fine.. (my opinions here, not facts)
Guest Deon Bearden
Billy, Do not remove the feet and set the subwoofer against the floor, this will obstruct the port opening. More than 50% of the port opening is underneath the subwoofer. The feet are intended to keep the bottom portion of the port 1.5"es from the floor. This presents a specific accoustic load to the port which was taken into account in the system design. It is *possible* to be used on it's side, however keep in mind it's port was designed for loading against the floor and using it on it's side is not *recomended*. IndyKlipschFan
Deon... I knew there was something screwy in my mind... Thanks for the "education" on placement. Perhaps a picture is worth a thousand words on this one.. On to the Klispch page on the RW 12. http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=654 I will say this, I have heard it, and it does do a great job too. peter_h
I see an ad on audiogon for RS12 for 200. Anyone know this speaker. AS some may have noticed, I am looking for an acceptable, inxpensive sub to mate with the Heresy, Is this a possibility. It will be used only in a low power, tube driven, two chanel audio context.
