ric Posted August 21, 2004 Share Posted August 21, 2004 ok im using a onkyo 6.1 reciever and would like to hook up a pre-amp to it to achieve cleaner sound. the reciever is 100 watts, and it has a pre out. how do i hook this up. thinking of outlaw pre amp, any comments?? 3dzapper Posted August 21, 2004 Share Posted August 21, 2004 Ric, It has a pre-out, does it have a main in? For 2 channel that would be the input to use. The other channels would still use the internal processor for surround. The DSP would use the main in and create the delay effects for the center/ rears. dougdrake Posted August 22, 2004 Share Posted August 22, 2004 ric - Yes, please clarify - do you want to use the Onkyo as the AMP or the pre-amp? The pre-amp out means the Onkyo is the pre-amp, and you would connect amplifiers to those pre-out jacks. If the Onkyo has a pre-amp in, or main in, you can use it as the amp with an external pre-amp... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
