MBM135
I was wondering if I should set my center and rear speakers to Large or Small in my receiver set-up? My Recvr instructions say to go large if I my speakers will go below 100Hz. My Klipsch SS-1 manual says to set to small but they are rated down to 60Hz. My KV2 center also goes below 100Hz (65 I think). I want to go large and live with any low freq distortion for now since I don't have a sub yet. I notice while watching Patton last night (desert tank battle scene) that my center was struggling a bit with the blasts. KG4s had no problem, however, just sat there booming away as usual... dougdrake
I think your best bet is to try the different settings and see what you like best. I suspect you will want the center and rears to small and the fronts to large. The bass that would have gone to the center/rears will be redirected to the fronts. I have KG4, KV-3, SS-1s set up that way (plus a sub) and it works fine.
Steve Phillips
I agree with Doug, the bass you keep out of the surrounds and center will save them from trying to reproduce that bass. You can try the center"large",but don't worry with the surrounds.IMHO
