DAX616
I auditioned a crown k2 amp with a mackie 1402-vlz pro mixer. I also had a bbe sonic maximizer 882i with a sony cd player as the source(nothing special there). The crown boasts 500 watts per channel a damping factor of 3000 10hz to 400hz and an led to show .05% thd if it occurrs. The mackie has a distortion spec thats very low as well. The crown with it's headroom really brought the mid range of the music and the bass was tremendous. The highs were crisp. Unfortunately my 31 year old woofers could not hang. Yes, boy brings home 500 watt per channel amp and blows his woofers, both at the same time. They went out like lambs Oh how the mighty have fallen! I dont believe I reached the working limit of th k horn, I believe the components were old and tired, may be I am just in denial. The cones are still intact. maxg
WHY? Khorn + 100 WPC = 124 dB CONTINUOUS. With an extra 300 wpc / 6 dB headroom. That is 130 dB peaks - deafness in minutes - wasn't enough???
