theorist
hi. i have the promedia 4.1's... i love them but i have a couple questions... ::::INFO:::: i use the AC'97 Sound Card... I connect all my speakers to a Y-cable and connect that to the one audio jack in the back of my computer... :::::::::::: QUESTION 1 everything is fine but the two rear speakers seem to have static and distortion at louder volumes while the two front ones do... what is wrong with this? QUESTION 2 i'm using WIN ME... in your speaker setting what is best to use in my situation? i am using "desktop speakers" setting now... QUESTION 3 is my sound card bad? it's integrated in my computer i think... Sony Vaio... thank you.
magnum29
Theorist: I think to get the best sound from your 4.1's you really should get an add-on sound card. I have the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz; there are a lot of other good cards-just read through the posts that others have sent. The SC works fine for me.....mag
deaf guy
yeah i agree with magnum i think you do need an add on card for your promedia 4.1 i'm pretty sure that you would get rid of your static problem too, i'm thinking its coming from your y adapter but i don't know just speculation. i don't know about question two though i have mine at quadrophonic setting becuase i have two channels coming out. but yes i think the desktop speakers setting is fine ------------------ bass beats melody
