jdm56
Well, the old Sony (PS-LX510) seems to be dying a slow, lingering death, so I've decided to put the old gal out of her misery. She'd gotten to where she would stick pretty bad (she's a straight-line tracker), causing the stylus to skip and do all sort's of nasty little things. J&R had the Technics SL-BD20 on sale for only $120 including cartridge, so I thought that was a deal I didn't want to miss. I did consider the low-end Music Hall and Pro-Ject tables but then I thought "geez, I haven't bought vinyl in over twenty years, and I have no intentions of starting now". So, I think the Technics will do the job, which is to reliably and cleanly play my few hundred remaining LP's on into my twilight years. Besides, I can't really see having a turntable that isn't at least semi-automatic -which the Technics is. Yes, I am that lazy. Oh well, carry on with your little audiophile chit-chat...
