boa12
u bet av! the above hometheaterhifi link does now have all the days covered w/ another pic of the new aragon stage one preamp w/ their palladium amp. no specs or such yet though. does it usually take so long for some more detailed coverage of these shows? i mean there're hardly any product details from this show currently out there. RossVTaylor
The new Stereophile Guide to HT that arrived today is just now including coverage of the May HT show. I noted, with some interest, the comments about the Avantgarde horn speakers: "The biggest surprise was the lack of coloration from the very visible horns, which reproduced all but the extreme low bass in these speakers. And the Avantgardes' ability to play loud with only a few watts means that you don't need a big amplifier to drive them. BAT's amps... were having no trouble working with the Avantgarde... to create an impressively big, dynamic home-theater sound." PWK couldn't have said it better himself. In the 40's no less!! Something we Klipsch fans have known for some time... Ross ------------------ "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."
boa12
well i guess they don't want any info out to the public, just dealers & distributors. aragon/klipsch/mondial i guess doesn't want to create demand for something that won't be finalized til 2002. but i'm not waiting til 2002 to get a preamp offering 6.1+, adjustable crossover, new formats, etc. dealer called & the denon 4802 is in. will check it out tomorrow. boa12
thanks av. i am thoroughly doing my due dilligence for a new preamp/processor. leaning toward a receiver like the 4802 w/ 7 powered channels as then i wouldn't need to buy any additional power amps for the beyond 5 channels. ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front) 2-KLF C7 (front center & rear center) Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Marantz SR-8000 receiver Acurus A200X5 power amp Sony DVP-C650D 5-disk cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 digital cable box Monster HTS2500 & HTS1000 powercenters Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3, RC-3 Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics SL-1950 turntable/AT LS500 cartridge Technics dual cassette deck rock on!
