jbsl
In Dec I bought a 2004 Luxman Int amp that has 100 watts. I already had a Cayin TA 30 tube int amp using it as just a amp with a 20 year old Luxman preamp. Bought the new Luxman to mainly use it as a preamp and with the Cayin tube amp it sounds very good!! When I got the new Luxman I tried using it's power section and while it sounded good the Cayin sounded better. I only used the Luxmans power amp for a day so I did not give the amp time to really break in. I know some people don't believe equipment has a break in period and some people do believe but IMHO it does make a slight difference. But a slight difference can improve the sound. Some of it may be your ears adjust to the new equipment and you perceive that as the equipment has finished burning in. When I got my 2004 La Scalas they were bright to me and after 2 months sounded the same. Made 6 inch risers and this helped but until I had the speakers about 4 months after I made the risers did they start to sound better than my KLF 20s did. What's your theory on this subjec?
