power strip rating

Recommended Posts

A typical strip is rated at 15amps, as is the typical service outlet. And I have a suspicion that the Promedias are designed to operate from a standard outlet! 2.gif

But not being certain of the current rating for the model of which you speak, I would check the label or the manual for the current rating (amperage) and use a strip that is rated the same or greater.

any powerstrip/surge protector should be able to handle the ultra's fine, even the $5-10 ones.

I've never heard of a bad surge protector hurting sound quality, honestly. Thats like the myth that power cords affect sound quality.

Also, try to keep promedia questions to the promedia forum, that's what it's there for, so people who actually own the product can help you, not just give you "best guess" like some of us do in these forums. :)

granted, this is a "technical " question. i also posted on promedia 5.1 because amy,a moderator ,had mentioned the power strip rating as possibly being a problem for another poster. i had not as yet gotten any response for my Q over there though. thanks for your input
