a_d_a_m
When I turn the volume up the first 33% there is a very noticable scratching noise. There is no scratching in the music but whenever the main volume knob is turned there is a scratching noise. Any ideas? Thanx for the help. WildMutant
Mine scraches when I turn the volume knob..I guess I can live with it. Would I need a new set of controller or new speakers? I don't want to return the whole system; Overall, I like the system..Just the scraching noice that is a pain....
Dman155
I have the same problem too. It only scratches in the front left channel when I adjust the volume. Can you send me a free CP-1 upgrade? But seriously, is this a real problem? If I don't mind it, am I ok?
Sam_D
No it's not a real problem. It's probably dust or dirt in the pots of the preamp. The CP-1 will eliminate this problem (or at least get rid of most of it), I haven't had any problems yet with either of the preamps that I've owned ('original' and the CP-1). There's several solutions to fix it, and you can find those by searching for "scratching" or "static" in the forum search. One solution that's worked for me is to put a cheap air cleaner in the room, and that eliminated it for me when I had the 'original' preamp. If you don't mind it, you're fine. If it gets awful, you can't stand it, and you've tried every solution you can find, then you can call tech support at the number above. Hope this helps, Sam
