JeffDurbin
I made a card-board mockup to jugde the screen size in my living room. A 50" TV would sufficent. I've narrowed down my choices to a 50" RPTV or a 42" plasma. The plasma would do the job, too. At least for now. And because of the slim size it will give me the possibility to upgrade to a real big picture front projector system later. What are your opinions? I wrestled with the front-projector / rear-projector issue myself. My seating position is 13' - 14' from the screen. I was examining the Optoma H27/31 or the InFocus 4805. I neded up going with the InFocus 61md10 because it was HDTV and the front-projectors were not and because I have ambient light issues which always argue against front-projection. I would go 60" or so. Actually, I would go with the 50" and use the savings on better audio equipment (like Klipsch). That would do a better job of drawing you into the film.
