I have the 2.1's with the Audiophile 24-96 sound card and I can't believe the kind of sound quality I am getting from this small system.I hardly crank up my big audio system anymore. Seb Posted February 10, 2001 Share Posted February 10, 2001 oh crap. i don't think there are CDROMs that are better than others, audio quality-wise. your best bet would probably be to buy a good Pioneer 15X DVD ROM. so cheap, so fast, sooooo nice... did you upgrade the promedia's cables? i would strongly advise you to do that, your system is certainly worhty of that upgrade. how much did you pay for the sound card? Seb,I paid 169.oo for the Audiophile 24-96 sound card and I just upgraded the speaker cables today and I'm delighted with the sound quality. I have a very good midrange and when playing a vocal the singer is right out front where they should be.I am very pleased with the 2.1's. Thanks again for the help.
